Popping in for Info by cinequipwhite

We had a pleasant surprise on Friday when  local wedding still shooter Brian Tao popped by to say hello and test out the much sought after Dedolight DLOB-ML (Now officially named LEDZILLA) for himself, and others from the “Digital Wedding Forum” of whom we have seen some traffic over the past few weeks.

Its great to see another community of media professionals interested in an advanced and blossoming field of technology. LEDs are shaping up to become one of the next big steps in the lighting industry, utilizing much less energy, and reducing the reliance we have on disposable bulbs. By no means are they perfect, but they are definitely something to pay attention to as they get better and better.

But back to Brian. One thing he made me realize is that there are a HUGE amount of people looking to play with gear in person, to see if its a good fit  for them or not. Brian obviously had done more than his fair share of research on other products, as well as the Dedo. This product diligence is impressive, and we encourage ANYONE  interested in any of the products we sell to come in and do an in person review of what that product can do for you.

In the case of the DLOB-ML, we talked a bit about price, and although the little light is a bit on the expensive side, its well worth the money and could solve a lot of lighting needs. I was reminded of a great point that may other industry people (stills, video, film) can truly take into consideration: There is no sense searching for the best deal; search for the product that best suits your needs. Its a good rule to live by, since we have all been stuck in the Price over Quality trap before.

So, call us, drop by, and request more demo videos! It can only help other like minded individuals who want to know more too. And THAT my friends, is what we are about. Helping people just like you.

Brian Tao is a photographer based in Toronto who shoots anything from portraits to weddings, and even more. His work can be found here. Photo courtesy of Brian Tao, Luxography. Model: The infamous Jonathan Stainton.
